Baywa is delivering the TAFE NSW Asset Renewal Program LED upgrade, replacing end-of-life fluorescent and discharge lighting with energy-efficient LED luminaires across seven campuses between 2026 and 2030.

The challenge

Replace 27,981 end-of-life fluorescent and discharge luminaires across 4,784 rooms and 115 buildings on seven TAFE NSW campuses, all of them busy learning environments, without getting in the way of teaching.

Our approach

This project involves a wide range of luminaire installations across many different buildings and uses, from classrooms, workshops and laboratories to libraries, offices and corridors, each with its own lighting needs. Our teams plan the sequence with each campus around its timetable, move through the buildings room by room, and make sure every space is well lit and tidy before it is handed back. Removed fittings go to e-waste recycling.

The outcome

Modern, energy-efficient LED lighting across all seven campuses, with an estimated 65% cut in connected lighting load, better light for students and staff, and lower running costs for TAFE NSW.
